Bio

Stephen recently co-created and directed the breakout comedy series "The Holdouts" starring Kevin Corrigan, Jayce Bartok, Michael Buscemi and Deirdre O’Connell (Savin Rock Entertainment, USA).  He made his writing and directorial debut with the short film Cafe Cacahuete (Giselle Productions, FRANCE) that was the official selection at the Sao Paulo International Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Stephen went on to receive a Ford Foundation Grant for his documentary on legendary boxer Leon Spinks.  During the past year, Stephen has created and directed over twenty films, videos and commercials for various media and social media campaigns. Clients have included the Young Survival Coalition, National Parks Conservation Association, EcoEnterprises Fund, Nathan Cummings Foundation, OECD and Ford Foundation.  

In addition to his directing work, Stephen is also a consummate writer who has developed new material for television and film with some of the finest industry executives in the business, including The Weinstein Company and Academia de Filmes (in Brazil).  His plays have also been produced Off-Broadway and developed at award-winning institutions that include the The Lark, NYU Studio Tisch, New York Stage & Film and The Echo Theater Company. His work as a NYC artist and director was featured The New York Times Cover Story "Artists and Their Muse: Gentrification (December, 2016).  Stephen also has excellent experience in the marketing and advertising realms having worked in marketing for the Rainforest Alliance and managing their award-winning digital campaign “Follow the Frog”.

Stephen’s work has been described as a unique mix of documentary filmmaking and theatrical storytelling. His stories have a sincere humanity to them that communicate compelling, funny and dramatic moments but always strive to be magical, authentic and memorable.
